ASM offline projection: mechanism and limits
Pockitle Cue's browser ASM supports prepared local projection continuity. Once the show and its selected projection languages are prepared online, an already-open ASM console can continue cueing its already-open local Projection windows during venue internet loss. Local projection does not wait for cloud delivery acknowledgement.
Prepare online before the performance
- Deploy the show while online, then open and unlock its ASM console on the projection computer.
- Prepare the complete subtitle text for every selected projection language and wait for projection readiness.
- Open the required Projection windows, apply the display settings, and check cue changes, jumps and blackout on the actual venue screens.
- Keep ASM and the Projection windows open throughout the performance, and rehearse local continuity before the audience arrives.
What the offline mechanism covers
- This mechanism covers prepared local projection while the browser windows remain open. Offline browser reload, closing and reopening the windows, or a fresh browser start is not a supported public guarantee.
- Audience phones still use cloud delivery. When their connection or the operator's cloud publish path is unavailable, phones cannot receive new live cue updates through this mechanism.
- Script import, editing, AI translation, show deployment and cloud audience delivery require their online services.
- A cue shown on the local projector does not establish that audience phones received it.
After internet connectivity returns
When internet connectivity returns, ASM keeps local projection progress separate from the last cloud-confirmed cue. The operator explicitly chooses whether to synchronize the current local snapshot to cloud viewers. Intermediate offline cues are not automatically replayed to audience phones.
Pockitle Cue for Mac is the separate native projection application, with its own release status above. Its native cached-show design does not change the browser ASM continuity conditions.

- Local projection continuity

What is Pockitle?
Pockitle is a family of software for live language access from Pockitle Technologies Inc. Pockitle Cue prepares and cues surtitles for theatre and opera, and Pockitle Live captions live speech for talks and events.
What is the difference between Pockitle Cue and Pockitle Live?
Pockitle Cue is for text prepared before the show, such as a script or libretto that is translated, reviewed, and cued line by line. Pockitle Live is for speech happening now, captioned in real time without a script.
Is Pockitle Cue the same as SurtitleLive?
Yes. Pockitle Cue is the new name for SurtitleLive. Your account, projects, and sign-in stay the same.
Do audience members need to install an app?
No. Audiences open one link or scan a QR code in their phone browser. The Mac and iOS apps are for operators, not audiences.
What is ASM in Pockitle Cue?
ASM is Pockitle Cue's operator console, also called the Operator Cockpit. It controls prepared cues, local Projection windows and connected audience delivery. It is an operator tool, not the audience's viewing page.
Can Pockitle Cue project surtitles without internet?
Pockitle Cue's browser ASM supports prepared local projection continuity. Once the show and its selected projection languages are prepared online, an already-open ASM console can continue cueing its already-open local Projection windows during venue internet loss. Local projection does not wait for cloud delivery acknowledgement. Before the interruption, deploy the show, unlock ASM, prepare the complete selected projection text, confirm readiness and open the Projection windows on the same computer. Keep both ASM and the Projection windows open.
Can I reload ASM or restart the browser while offline?
This mechanism covers prepared local projection while the browser windows remain open. Offline browser reload, closing and reopening the windows, or a fresh browser start is not a supported public guarantee.
Do audience phones keep receiving cues while ASM is offline?
No. Audience phones still use cloud delivery. When their connection or the operator's cloud publish path is unavailable, phones cannot receive new live cue updates through this mechanism.
What happens when ASM reconnects after an internet interruption?
When internet connectivity returns, ASM keeps local projection progress separate from the last cloud-confirmed cue. The operator explicitly chooses whether to synchronize the current local snapshot to cloud viewers. Intermediate offline cues are not automatically replayed to audience phones.
Does Pockitle Cue automatically recognize speech to advance the prepared script?
Pockitle Cue's prepared-script workflow uses operator cue control, including supported QLab cue workflows. AI assistance in script preparation or translation does not imply automatic speech-following. Pockitle Live is the separate product for captioning live speech.
Is Pockitle Live an offline captioning product?
No. Pockitle Live uses connected speech processing, translation and cloud caption delivery. Pockitle Cue's prepared local projection continuity does not provide offline live-speech captioning.
